Day 1 - Arriving in Tokyo

Landed early in the morning

Had to purchase our JR passes in the longest line at the train station

Then as we figured out where we needed to go, a rail way employee grabbed Chris’ bag and told him to hurry and started running down the escalator but once we started talking to us, she realised that we did not just fly from Singapore and did not need to get on a connecting flight

Once we were able to get back to where we started and got on our train, we made our way to the hotel in peak hour on the train in the city. Then we went up the huge hill in 35 degrees weather with 90% humidity carrying our giant suitcases which was fun. Once we dropped off the bags and were wet with sweat still in our winter clothes and spent some time in the hotel lobby bathroom trying to freshen up.

Then we were on a mission to find some coffee and breakfast.

Walked about 10 minutes and had some mini French toast with iced latte which was delicious.

Then we walked to Shiba Park temple and through the gardens to the orange Tokyo tower which used to be the highest tower in Tokyo but now very tiny in comparison.

Then we walked around the shopping centre to buy some snacks before heading back to the hotel to check in and have a much needed shower.

Once showered we headed to dinner at a local Japanese restaurant and got a platter. We had to ask them to stop before the ramen came out as we could physically not fit anymore in. Back home and straight to sleep with plans of a sleep in tomorrow.
