Day 2 - Exploring Tokyo
We started with a quick breaky and a walk to Meiji Jingu which was a beautiful park/forest with a temple in the middle of it. This was at 9am at 33 degrees. We then went around the corner to another park and saw a few birds and crazy people running. Then had some an ice cream sandwich that was made of some amazing ice cream that didn’t melt somehow before getting the train to Shinjuku to see the famous 3D cat advertising board that looks just like Penny which did not disappoint. We then headed to Shubuya to go see the Shibuya scramble crossing and Shibuya Sky which we were told would likely close due to heat stroke conditions and it felt like it when we were on top with no relief anywhere from the sun but great views and nice to see, even if all in the open air. After dying in the heat, we went down and had walked through the Senso-Ji markets which led to the temple. I got a Very Good Fortune and Chris got a Very Bad Fortune. So he had to tie it to the bad fortune tree. Then walked back through the markets and did some shopping then headed to the Asahi building in the shape of a beer. Then went to the top to find out there was a private function on and it was closed so had to head back down to the Asahi building. At the bottom we found there was an Asahi bar which we had a drink at. Then we headed up Tokyo Tower to look at more views of Tokyo. We ended up staying for 2 hours to watch the sunset and see Tokyo at night. After an incredibly long day, we found some ramen and dumplings, got the train home and went straight to sleep.
